Program Policies
Health, safety, supervision, and conduct for our classes and programs
Health & Safety
The well-being of every child is our priority. By registering, you agree to the following:
- Illness: Please keep your child home if they’ve had a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, an unexplained rash, or any contagious illness within the last 24 hours. We may send home a child who becomes ill during class.
- Allergies & medical needs: Please list each child’s allergies and relevant medical conditions on their profile under Manage Family in your account, and keep this information current so it’s available to our instructors. We take reasonable care but cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
- Medication: Our staff do not administer medication. If your child needs emergency medication (e.g., an inhaler or epinephrine auto-injector), a parent/guardian must remain on-site or arrange this with us in writing beforehand.
- Emergencies: In a medical emergency we will call 911 and try to reach the emergency contact on file. By registering, you authorize us to seek emergency medical care for your child if you can’t be reached, and you’re responsible for any resulting costs.
- Pick-up: Children are released only to a parent/guardian or an adult you’ve authorized.
Special Medical & Mental Health Needs
Every child is welcome at Ivory & Sage, and we strive to be understanding, encouraging, and supportive of children with special medical, developmental, or mental-health needs. At the same time, it’s important to understand that we are an educational program — our instructors are not medically, clinically, or professionally trained in any area of physical or mental health.
For a child with special medical or mental-health needs, a parent, guardian, or qualified medical professional must remain on-site at all times. It is that person’s responsibility to understand the child’s needs and to interpret and respond to any unique situation that may arise. Ivory & Sage Homeschool makes no representation of ability, training, or experience to provide for special medical or mental-health needs.
Supervision & Drop-Off
- A parent or guardian must remain on-site for the full class for children in our Toddler and Pre-K programs.
- For Elementary and older programs, children may be dropped off; a parent/guardian must stay reachable by phone and return promptly at pick-up.
- Parents are responsible for supervising any siblings who aren’t registered participants.
Code of Conduct
We want every class to be safe, welcoming, and respectful. We ask all participants and families to:
- Treat instructors, volunteers, other families, and property with kindness and respect.
- Follow instructor directions and safety guidelines — especially around tools, fire, and cooking.
- Refrain from disruptive, unsafe, or harmful behavior.
Damage to property: Families are responsible for the reasonable cost of repairing or replacing any Ivory & Sage or host-venue property damaged through a participant’s careless, unreasonable, or intentional conduct.
Assumption of risk: Many of our activities are hands-on and involve tools, open flame, cooking, and outdoor settings, which carry inherent risks. By registering, you voluntarily accept these risks on behalf of yourself and your child and agree that participation is at your own risk. (This is in addition to the Liability Waiver signed at registration.)
Ivory & Sage Homeschool reserves the right, at our sole discretion, to remove a participant for unsafe or disruptive behavior, or behavior that interferes with others’ participation; no refund or credit is issued in these cases. We do not tolerate harassment or discrimination of any kind.
